Jennifer Russell Community Center

The Jennifer Russell Community Building is a largely prefabricated steel building, which replaces an old school building at the end of its useful life. In addition to the curtain wall and curtain wall support system, two custom architecturally exposed steel canopies were developed and detailed internally.

Innovations

Sleeved Hollow Steel Tube System
Connects canopies seamlessly to the main structure. Allows installation before finishes, with hidden attachment points.
Concealed Field Bolting System
Employs hidden bolts for a clean canopy look. Blends structural and architectural elements.
Integrated Gutter and Structural System
Combines gutter and structural functions. Uses wide flanges to conceal drainage and enhance form.
